As part of the Interreg VI Grande Région programme and the SaarMoselle functional area, the MOT is a beneficiary partner in the PRISMA project (‘Projet d'aménagement d'information et d'observation pour un projet d'agglomération SaarMoselle’) for a period of three years, from 2024 to 2026.
The signing of the third amendment to the MOSAR agreement on September 18th, 2024 marks a new milestone in cross-border healthcare cooperation between Moselle and Saarland.
On December 1st, 2023, the MOT and the National Agency for Territorial Cohesion (ANCT) co-organised the final webinar presenting the results of the Franco-German MORO pilot project, which was attended by more than 100 people.

In border areas, living and employment areas are closely intertwined. Differences between planning tools and the organisation of the relevant authorities can hamper integrated regional development. These issues were at the heart of "MORO," a Franco-German spatial planning pilot project. In order to report on the results of this project, the ANCT and the MOT are organising a webinar on 1 December entitled "How to move forward with spatial planning in border areas".
Since September 6th, 2023, the "Kita-Salut" cross-border crèche, located in Saarbrucken and only a 20 minute drive from Sarreguemines, has been welcoming French and German children.

On December 14th, 2022, the closing conference of the first Franco-German spatial planning pilot project (MORO) was held in Strasbourg, with Jean Peyrony, director general of the MOT, and other experts sharing their knowledge at several round tables.
On November 23rd, 2022, the Saarland, the Grand Est region, the Moselle department and the Saar-Moselle Eurodistrict signed an alliance designed to join forces to facilitate access to healthcare for the populations in the border regions.
On October 14th, the Prefect of Moselle gathered the Local Committee for Territorial Cohesion (CLCT). Launched in 2017 for a five-year period, the project “Civil Society in the Upper Rhine” presented its final assessment at the closing day held by the PAMINA Eurodistrict EGTC on 9 November 2021 in Lauterbourg. Funded within the framework of the Interreg VA Upper Rhine programme, it aimed to “involve civil society players more in the joint construction of cross-border daily life”.

The Eurodistrict is in the final phase of the process of drawing up its new territorial strategy. The issues it addresses are varied, and in the special context of the pandemic, cross-border cooperation has taken on particular importance, notably in the area of healthcare.
On 28 February, Germany took the decision to restrict crossings at its border for people coming from the Moselle, describing the department as “a zone in which Covid-19 is circulating”.
In October 2020, the MOT was tasked by the National Agency for Territorial Cohesion and the Banque des Territoires as an “action partner” in the national programme “Small Towns of Tomorrow”.
On 3 February 2021, Saarland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Peter Strobel, went to Paris to receive the "Prix coup de cœur 2021" awarded by the magazine "Acteurs Publics".

One year on from the signing of the Aachen Treaty, a Franco-German "Cross-Border Cooperation Committee" was officially established, in Hambach, on 22 January 2020, in the presence of the German Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Michael Roth, and the French Secretary of State in charge of European Affairs, Amélie de Montchalin. Its objective is "to overcome everyday border problems by means of concrete and reproducible solutions".
This guide is targeted at those involved in young people’s services across the Eurodistrict: social workers, teaching assistants, youth workers and coordinators, members of associations, administrative staff in the field of young people’s services, teachers, etc. It aims to guide these players in the development and implementation of cross-border projects.
