A look back at the final webinar of the MORO project: "How to move the planning of border territories forward?"

On December 1st, 2023, the MOT and the National Agency for Territorial Cohesion (ANCT) co-organised the final webinar presenting the results of the Franco-German MORO pilot project, which was attended by more than 100 people.

The event highlighted the challenges linked to the integrated development of border areas due to the differences between planning tools and administrative structures on either side of the border. The Franco-German "MORO" project that was presented implemented an innovative method of "concertation-action" and simulation games on two pilot sites: the Saar-Moselle Eurodistrict and the Upper Rhine region.

The webinar addressed the realities and needs of other border territories through three round tables: "Observation and data for a common understanding of the territory"; "Governance for common roadmaps and strategies for border territories", and "Coordination of territorial planning in cross-border spaces for the benefit of territorial cohesion".

The speakers included the Directorate General for Planning, Housing and Nature of the Ministry of Ecological Transition (France), the ANCT, the BBSR (Germany), the Ministry of Housing and Spatial Planning (Grand Duchy of Luxembourg), the SGAR Hauts-de-France, the INSEE cross-border statistics unit, the Grand Est region, the Rhein-Neckar region (Germany), the ADEUS, AGURAM and AUA urban planning agencies, the Nice Côte d'Azur metropolitan area, the SaarMoselle Eurodistrict (France-Germany) and the GLCT Grand Genève (France-Switzerland).
