Cross-border cooperation as a focal point for the Moselle CLCT’s work

On October 14th, the Prefect of Moselle gathered the Local Committee for Territorial Cohesion (CLCT). On this occasion, a participatory approach was proposed to the various participants, via the organisation of five working groups, the objective of which was to identify the engineering needs of local authorities, the existing solutions, and to promote the exchange of good practices and feedback from the field.

A new electrical link between France and Italy

As a further step towards the construction of the European electricity network, a new 190 km EHV line, entirely underground, is being built between Savoy and Piedmont. It will increase the electricity exchange capacity between France and Italy by 40%.

Advances for cross-border sports

Following the modification of the French sports code (article L231-2-1) by the 3DS law of February 21st 2022, sportsmen and women residing abroad, and in particular in a country bordering France, no longer need to present a medical certificate when registering for a sports competition organised partly in a French border department.

Towards a shared territorial vision for Greater Geneva

Spatial planning is one of the essential levers for achieving carbon neutrality. This is why the partners of Greater Geneva wished to commit themselves to drawing up a new "cross-border territorial vision" in line with the objectives of ecological transition and to build the territory of tomorrow with a view to being carbon neutral by 2050.

Cross-border cooperation at the National Land Tenure Conference

On October 6th and 7th, the Assises Nationales du Foncier et des Territoires were held in Nancy. Aimed at discussing land issues in all their aspects, from upstream to downstream and from strategy to implementation, they brought together nearly 600 people, elected representatives and professionals, from both public and private sectors, for conferences, workshops and round tables, in 11 thematic sessions.

Communication setting out how the EC can follow up on the outcome of the Conference on the Future of Europe

After a year of deliberations, the Conference came to an end on 9 May 2022. In the closing ceremony in Strasbourg, the Presidents of the European Parliament, Commission and Council received a final report from the Conference participants containing 49 wide-ranging, ambitious and forward-looking proposals and 326 individual measures.

Second session of the MOOC on European territorial cooperation

After the success of the first session with over 600 participants, a second session of the MOOC on European territorial cooperation produced by the MOT and its partners (Strasbourg University, Artois University, Thessaloniki University, CESCI, Euro-Institut, TEIN network) will be held in October and November 2022. On 12 July 2022, Brigitte Klinkert, member of parliament for Haut-Rhin (FR), questioned the French government in the National Assembly on "the place of cross-border cooperation in the negotiations conducted under the French Presidency ».
