Three Franco-Italian cooperation agreements on civil security
September 2022
On July 19th, three agreements on civil security and border security were signed between the prefecture of Savoie and that of Turin.
The first text concerns the setting up of joint patrols between the French and Italian border police. The second addresses the renewal of an existing agreement between Savoy’s fire and rescue service and Turin’s fire brigade. Finally, the third agreement outlines a binational rescue plan in the Fréjus road tunnel.
These agreements are in line with the axes of cooperation put forward in the Treaty of the Quirinal, signed in November 2021 between the two countries for "enhanced bilateral cooperation".
