Copenhagen-Malmö

Flagship projects

Several projects have been led by the two cities, specifically concerning the cross-border conurbation or the Øresund region as a whole.

Copenhagen Malmö Port

Established in 2001 and based in Copenhagen, this private-sector cross-border organisation aims to improve cooperation between the ports of Malmö and Copenhagen while increasing their economic integration. This port association exploits its geographical location in the Øresund, the gateway to the Baltic Sea. The sectors that are jointly managed concern the automobile industry, logistics, maritime transport of freight and passengers, container storage, oil, trade, etc.

Projects specific to the Øresund region

The two cities are the driving force of the governance structure at the regional level, that of the Øresund region. They are the lead partners of the numerous cross-border cooperation projects within this framework.
