A "local" EGTC for the Italian-French Riviera

The cooperation dynamic launched at the beginning of the year by the French Riviera Conurbation Community (Communauté d'Agglomération de la Riviera Française - CARF) and the City of Sanremo is continuing today, with the aim of setting up an EGTC by the end of 2024.
It was in this context that some twenty local elected representatives met at the Casino de Sanremo on November 28th for a "cross-border focus group" led by the MOT.
Although the commune of Ventimiglia had already joined the initiative in June, it now needed to be extended to all the border communes in the provinces of Cuneo and Imperia, as well as the coastal communes crossed by the road and rail links between the border and Sanremo, the province's largest city in terms of population.
The focus group provided the opportunity for a rich working session, devoted to cooperation themes, the missions of the future EGTC, and its operation. The MOT will support this partnership throughout 2024, until the Franco-Italian EGTC is set up.
