Cohesion policy after 2027: the MOT's contribution to the INCOPAP consultation

The European Commission has launched discussions on cohesion policy after 2027 within an independent high-level group of experts, which will publish its conclusions and strategic recommendations in early 2024.

To contribute to the debate in France on the future of cohesion policy, the ANCT and Régions de France launched a call for contributions from INCOPAP* members between September and November 2023.

The results - a dozen responses, including one from the MOT - were discussed at the national policy-level seminar held in Paris on 19 December. In its response to the call for contributions, the MOT highlighted the cross-border challenges of European cohesion policy after 2027.

As a member of INCOPAP, the MOT took part in the seminar on December 19th. The seminar was introduced by Dominique Faure, Minister Delegate in charge of Local and Regional Authorities and Rurality, with a reminder and perspective of the European calendar. She also confirmed France's support for cohesion and partnership at several levels. During the meeting, the issues and challenges identified in five blocks (demographic transition, ecological and energy transition, social cohesion, digital transition, and territorial cohesion) were presented.
