The "Metropolitan Areas" Act

The final version of the draft legislation on the “modernisation of territorial public action and the affirmation of metropolitan areas” was adopted by France’s Joint Parliamentary Committee on 19 December 2013
It follows the vote on its second reading in the Assemblée Nationale. Three articles in the legislation contain references to cross-border cooperation (those on “the territorial conference on public action”, “the reinforcement of the external action of territorial authorities and their groupings” and “metropolitan areas”).
