"Les Salt Roads": promoting a shared Franco-Italian history

Promoting the history of the salt roads has been a theme of interest to many local players and elected representatives in the cross-border area for many years.
The Nice-Côte d'Azur Metropolis has brought together all the stakeholders involved in the emergence and promotion of an original and entertaining tourism product based on three cross-border walking itineraries linking the Mediterranean coast to Piedmont, giving rise to a collection of "The Salt Roads" novels and guides.
With this original format, the Franco-Italian partners wanted to offer a different perspective on the close historical and cultural links that unite this territory, thanks to the support of passionate historians. Following these three itineraries is an opportunity to discover the region's countless treasures in the midst of grandiose landscapes between the Alps and the Mediterranean. A digital adventure game and immersive experiences in augmented and virtual reality complete this new tourism product.
