The European Straits meet in the Pas-de-Calais
June 2019On 14-15 May, at the invitation of the Pas-de-Calais Department, 24 territorial authorities that border on 11 European straits gathered in Boulogne-sur-Mer. The purpose: to take stock of ten years of working together within the European Straits Initiative.
This cooperation aims to find innovative solutions to respond to the specific challenges linked to straits and to communicate with one voice the issues identified to the European institutions. The conference culminated in the signature of a new Memorandum of Understanding for the coming four years and the adoption of a work programme.
