Launch of the France-Switzerland Interreg programme

The Interreg France-Switzerland VI 2021-2027 programme was officially launched at an event in Arc-et-Senans (Doubs) on 9 June 2022.

It will have required three years of preparatory work carried out with the French and Swiss partners of the cooperation territory, composed of 7 Swiss cantons (Bern, Fribourg, Geneva, Jura, Neuchâtel, Valais, Vaud) and 5 French departments (Doubs, Jura and Territoire de Belfort for the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, Ain and Haute-Savoie for the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region). It is built around 5 priorities:
- Priority 1 - Carbon neutrality, ecological and energy transition
- Priority 2 - Research, innovation and new technologies
- Priority 3 - Sustainable mobility and multimodality
- Priority 4 - Sustainable tourism and culture
- Priority 5 - Reduction of obstacles at the Franco-Swiss border
Jean Peyrony, Director General of the MOT, spoke at the event about the role of cross-border cooperation bodies and their means of developing a common culture of governance, with the support of Interreg.
