EU transport ministers highlight cross-border mobility with the Barcelona Declaration

The informal transport ministerial meeting held in Barcelona on September 22th, 2023 as part of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU concluded with the signing of the Barcelona Declaration: "a commitment to accessible, affordable and equitable mobility to promote social and territorial cohesion".
Centered on citizens, this declaration aims to adapt mobility to regional conditions: "Rural and cross-border mobility is a key point of a declaration that prioritizes the promotion of an integrated and accessible network. To achieve this, it is necessary to adapt mobility solutions to the specific characteristics of each context, always with the participation of its inhabitants in the design and implementation of new policies."
