Data hub for EU border regions: a new interactive map of cross-border interactions is now online

The ‘Data hub for EU border regions’, led by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), is launching a new interactive web map that allows users to explore more than 20 types of geolocated cross-border interactions: services, public transport, EGTCs, energy communities, b-Solutions projects, pilot initiatives on spatial planning and crisis management, and much more.

Among the new features:

  • display of aggregated data by border,
  • linking of different datasets,
  • downloadable data in spreadsheet and geospatial formats.

The Data Hub also features several recent improvements:

  • a new ‘Border Focus’ view to compare socio-economic trends between border and non-border regions;
  • updated indicators for NUTS-3 border regions: demographic trends, rail and road network density, Airbnb data, rail performance, access to hospitals, new EGTC data, etc.
