Cross-border cooperation
Since the creation of the Danube-Vah-Ipel Euroregion in 1999, the two towns are officially engaged in cooperation at different levels. They have participated in many projects concerning economic development, tourism, culture, and spatial planning.
In order to further enhance their cross-border cooperation, they obtained, in 2010, the establishment of the EGTC Pons-Danubii, centred on their territory.
