A new roadmap between Alsace and the Swiss Jura
April 2024On March 19th, 2024, the Government of the Republic and Canton of Jura and the European Collectivity of Alsace signed a new roadmap. The aim is to redefine the areas of cooperation between the two neighbours for the years 2024 and 2025.
The focus is on mobility, with a connection between the Jura and Alsace bicycle networks due to be finalised by the end of 2025, and a study to improve public transport links on both sides. In addition to transport issues, the Collectivité européenne d'Alsace and the Canton of Jura will be working to develop collaboration in various fields such as circular economy, tourism, ecological transition, water and wildlife management, culture and historical heritage. The roadmap also calls for increased exchanges and meetings between the two administrations.
At the beginning of the year, the MOT was also active in the cross-border area of the Alsatian Jura. As part of its partnership with the national programme for territorial revitalisation,Small Towns of Tomorrow (Petites Villes de Demain) area, it was able to support the municipality of Dannemarie in defining its cross-border cooperation priorities by presenting an analysis of cross-border opportunities to the elected representatives of the Communauté de Communes Sud Alsace Largue (South Alsace Largue Community of Communes).
