Towards the creation of a harmonised European framework for cross-border businesses

This optional, harmonised ‘28th regime’ would, in particular, allow companies to register just once, to operate under the same legal form in all Member States, and to relocate their registered office within the EU without having to wind up or re-establish themselves. This vote is in line with the Commission’s ‘EU Inc’ initiative, which aims to provide a single European structure facilitating cross-border growth, investment and employment, particularly for start-ups and scale-ups, through the harmonisation of standards.
