Terres Monviso: the MOT supports reflection on local cross-border governance

In Pontechianale (Province of Cuneo), in the presence of French and Italian local elected representatives, the MOT led the launch meeting of a new legal advisory mission aimed at supporting the Terres Monviso partnership in a possible evolution of its operating arrangements and governance.

Carried out in close collaboration with Professor Vellano, Professor of European Union Law at the Università degli Studi di Torino, this mission will draw on interviews and collective workshops to be held until December 2026.

The objective is to collectively address several key questions: which forms of cooperation should be prioritised? How can their long-term sustainability be ensured? How can the specific challenges faced by this high-mountain territory be better addressed?

This participatory reflection will notably take into account the opportunities opened up by the Quirinal Treaty and the future Interreg 2028–2034 programming period, while remaining attentive to the needs expressed by territories engaged in increasingly close cooperation.

Among the most concrete actions expected in the coming months is the launch of a new cross-border shuttle service enabling travel across the Agnel Pass. More info on Transalpi.
