Resilient Borders: the final publication is now online
July 2026
The final publication of the Resilient Borders – Cross-border Spatial Planning and Crisis Management project is now available. Produced by the MOT and the AEBR with the support of DG REGIO, it brings together the lessons learnt from 19 pilot projects carried out across Europe to strengthen the resilience of border regions in the face of crises.
Two publications are available:
- A collection of case studies presenting practical examples of cross-border cooperation in the fields of spatial planning and crisis management;
- A strategic publication compiling the best practices and methodologies identified during the project and setting out recommendations for public decision-makers.
This research highlights the solutions developed by cross-border stakeholders to overcome obstacles to cooperation through joint action plans and innovative approaches. It also contributes to the debate on the future of European cohesion policy and territorial cooperation.
