Conference “Living in Border Regions – Tackling the challenges”

The conference “Living in Border Regions – Tackling the Challenges” was held on 17 April 2023 in Brussels and was organised by the European Alliance for Cross-Border Citizens (CoR, MOT, AEBR, and CESCI). Its objective was to explore possible ways of reviving the proposed regulation on the European Cross-Border Mechanism (ECBM), a tool designed to help overcome legal and administrative obstacles that hinder cross-border cooperation.

MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) “Interreg – European Territorial Cooperation”

Together with its partners, the MOT has worked on behalf of the European Commission to develop the first MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) dedicated to European Territorial Cooperation (ETC).

EURegionsWeek – MOT Workshop “Air Quality in Cross-Border Regions”

At a time when environmental health is becoming an increasingly important concern for populations, and when the Commission is launching its ambitious “Zero Pollution Action Plan” as part of the European Green Deal, the MOT and its network decided to organise a workshop entitled “Breathing without borders: the challenges of improving air quality in cross-border regions” during the European Week of Cities and Regions.

Conference “Cross-border rail connections: Fostering cohesion between regions and their citizens”

Cette conférence sur les liaisons ferroviaires transfrontalières a été organisée par la MOT et l’Eurodistrict PAMINA, avec le soutien du Comité européen des Régions dans le cadre de l’Année Européenne du Rail. Son objectif était de mettre en avant les recommandations formulées par les intervenants, tous ayant plaidé pour une Europe plus «connectée» et plus «verte».

1st Borders Forum “Cross-border territories on the front line ?”

On 9 and 10 November 2020, the MOT organised the first edition of the Borders Forum in Paris. Held under the patronage of Mr Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, the event brought together more than 700 participants online over two days of discussions.

Webinar “Potentials of Cross-border Public Services for French and neighbouring border regions”

The objective of the webinar was to share and discuss the key findings of the extensive study conducted by ESPON on cross-border public services, with a focus on the specific situation and challenges that exist between French regions and their neighboring areas.

EURegionsWeek – MOT Workshop “No country is an island: joint cross-border strategies for a successful energy transition”

During the 2019 edition of the European Week of Regions and Cities, which brought together more than 9,000 participants in Brussels, the MOT organised a workshop entitled “No country is an island: joint cross-border strategies for a clean energy transition.” The presentations delivered by three members of the network and a partner from Estonia helped illustrate the challenges and actions involved in successfully carrying out the energy transition across borders.
