BRIDGEforEU: France supported by the European Commission for the deployment of the national cross-border coordination points system

France's proposal, submitted jointly by the National Agency for Territorial Cohesion (ANCT) and the Cross-Border Operational Mission (MOT), for the deployment of coordination points to address obstacles to cross-border cooperation at French borders, was selected as part of the first European call for projects following the adoption of the BRIDGEforEU regulation.

Eight projects selected in Europe

This first call, launched by the European Commission, aims to provide financial support for the creation of Cross-Border Coordination Points (CBCPs) in Member States, as part of the roll-out of the mechanism provided for in the BRIDGEforEU Regulation, which aims to remove legal and administrative barriers to cooperation across European borders. Eight projects were selected following this first call, including the French project, alongside Austria, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Portugal and Hungary.

A two-tier architecture - In France

The BRIDGE-FR project will enable the deployment of a two-tier coordination architecture in France, with regional hubs along six borders (Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Spain) and a centralised national hub ensuring the consistency of the system and interministerial coordination.

Grâce à cette initiative, la France contribue activement à la mise en œuvre du règlement européen BRIDGEforEU, offrant aux acteurs locaux un soutien structuré pour résoudre les obstacles juridiques et administratifs à leur coopération transfrontalière.

A noter qu’un second appel à projet est prévu par la Commission.
