The MOT at the Paris International Agricultural Show: adressing labour shortages through cross-border cooperaiton

On 25 February, the MOT was invited by the Département du Nord as part of the cross-border event organised at the International Agricultural Show in Paris. The event brought together elected representatives and officials from the Département du Nord, the Province of Hainaut and the Province of West Flanders.

Discussions focused on labour shortages in the agricultural sector, a challenge shared across the French-Belgian cross-border region. Participants exchanged goodpractices and experiences from all three territories.

On this occasion, the MOT presented several approaches to tackling this issue at a cross-border level, emphasising the importance of enhanced coordination between French, Walloon and Flemish stakeholders, particularly in the areas of training and re-entry into the labour market.
