Implementation of the European Cohesion Policy for the post-2020 period

The MOT’s position on the implementation of European cohesion policy for the post-2020 period aims to ensure that greater account is taken of the specific characteristics of cross-border regions, which account for 40% of the European Union’s territory. The MOT’s recommendations are set out in the booklet published to mark its 20th anniversary.
Context
The brochure showcases the achievements of its members and partners through 20 initiatives designed to benefit residents of cross-border regions (Part 1); the obstacles that have been overcome or that still pose a problem, and the toolkit developed to overcome them (Part 2); and finally, the challenges facing Europe and its cross-border regions today, and the policy responses at the various levels of territorial action: local and regional, national, European and beyond (Part 3).
Most of the examples come from Western Europe, where MOT and its network operate on a daily basis; however, the diversity of the borders discussed makes these examples inspiring for other borders in Europe or around the world.
