Post-2027 Cohesion Policy: Opinion of the Committee of the Regions incorporating proposals from the MOT Working Group

Copyright : European Union

The MOT’s Post-27 Working Group met on April 9th to examine the proposal for a European regulation on ERDF, Interreg and Cohesion Policy. Discussions focused in particular on the amendments proposed by the Committee of the Regions, and more specifically the Commission for Territorial Cohesion Policy and the EU Budget (COTER), in connection with the European Cross-Border Platform (ECBP). This joint working session addressed several topics, notably the objectives supported by ERDF and Cohesion Funds, the scope of Interreg programmes, and the involvement of EGTCs and equivalent cross-border structures. The members of the MOT network who were present also expressed their concerns regarding the performance-based approach envisaged for future programming. All the opinions and contributions from the working group were compiled and sent to the ECBP so that they could be taken into account in the proposed amendments.
