Mobility without borders: the Lille-Kortrijk-Tournai Eurometropolis Forum publishes 30 proposals
March 2026
‘Mobility is essential for accessing jobs, services, leisure activities, healthcare and social life. Yet, crossing national or regional borders -or switching between different modes of transport – still creates significant obstacles for users.’
Since January 2024, the Eurometropolis Forum, which brings together stakeholders of the civil society from the border region, has been working on this issue through a workshop. It has now published 30 concrete proposals ‘to facilitate travel by public transport and active modes, advocating for mobility designed on the scale of the actual catchment area, where borders become points of continuit rather than disruption’.
