Eurodistrict Strasbourg-Ortenau: avenues for action to strengthen youth participation in cross-border life

On 15 October 2026, the Eurodistrict Strasbourg-Ortenau hosted a forum in Strasbourg titled “Beyond Words: Youth and a Cross-Border Future.” The event brought together around 40 professionals from the fields of education, culture, and the non-profit sector, alongside young people, to discuss their involvement in cross-border life. The discussions and five workshops yielded proposals aimed at fostering encounters between young French and German people, increasing the visibility of existing initiatives, and removing barriers to joint projects. Concurrently, the Eurodistrict is conducting a survey among 15-to-30-year-olds to gain a better understanding of their cross-border activities and expectations.
