Priority actions for 2026:
• BRIDGEforEU: implementation of the scheme to remove cross-border barriers and the creation of regional and national cross-border coordination points, with the support of the MOT within the ANCT and its partners, as part of the Interministerial Committee on Cross-Border Issues currently being set up. • “Towards a cross-border law?”: integration of cross-border issues into decentralisation legislation, implementation of cross-border impact assessments for draft legislation
• Review study: “20 years of EGTCs on the French borders”. More information
• The network’s working themes and advocacy: rail, bilingualism, Interreg 2028–2034, water and crisis management, housing
• Creation of an awareness-raising kit on cross-border issues for elected representatives and stakeholders on the ground
• Upcoming publication of the manifesto for the balanced economic development of cross-border territories, presented by Nathan Sourisseau (Grand Besançon Métropole), vice-president of the MOT, resulting from the working group on “skills shortages in border regions”. More information
