Chaque site pilote recevra une assistance technique par REScoop.eu, et pourra demander jusqu’à 15 000€ de subventions. L’appel est ouvert jusqu’au 21 novembre 2025.

What does a cross-border energy community really look like?

The Handbook on Cross-border Energy Communities portrays some inspiring examples of cross-border energy initiatives. Among them, EFI Duero Energy Q-CBEC demonstrates how local cross-border actors can successfully gather as a community to commercialize electricity on both side of a border.
Organised under the legal form of a European Cooperative Society, it gathers 26 Spanish and Portuguese municipalities, businesses and citizens from the Duero-Douro EGTC cross-border territory. EFI Duero Energy produces and distributes solar energy locally by implementing solar panels on public buildings. It directly benefits its community members by reducing electricity costs and contributes to a more sustainable energy production.
This is the kind of initiative we aim to support through our call for Cross-border Energy Communities which is open until November 21st 2025!
