Launch of the Interreg LIM-EX project: a new step towards removing barriers on the French-Belgian border
A major step forward for Franco-Belgian cooperation
On 8 December 2025, the official launch event for the Interreg LIM-EX – Resolving Barriers project was held in Bruges.
This strategically important project, entirely funded by the ERDF as part of the Interreg France-Wallonia-Flanders programme, aims to identify, prioritise and resolve the legal and administrative barriers that complicate the daily lives of citizens, businesses and institutions on both sides of the border.
Led by the General Secretariat for Regional Affairs of the Hauts-de-France Prefecture, LIM-EX brings together 18 public, academic and associative partners from the three sides, including the Flemish Region, the Walloon Region, the Hauts-de-France Region and the Grand Est Region.
The MOT, a partner
The MOT will play an essential role in designing the methodology for analysing and addressing obstacles, as well as in resolving them.
Jean Peyrony, Director General of the MOT, highlighted LIM-EX’s roots in more than 20 years of cooperation on resolving obstacles on the French-Belgian border, and its position at the heart of the dynamics that are taking shape at national and European level in connection with the implementation of the BridgeforEU regulation.
