The MOT at the JRC workshop on measuring cross-border flows

On the 15th and 16th of May in Ispra, Italy, the MOT took part in the workshop "Measurement of Flows Across the Internal Borders of the EU" organised by the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC).
The MOT’s presentation focused on “Cross-border observation: issues and challenges”, highlighting its expertise and proposals for improving data and analysis of the dynamics in border regions. Bringing together researchers, data producers and decision-makers, the workshop explored new approaches, ranging from traditional statistics to data from cellphone and social media networks, to better understand flows and support cross-border living areas.
