Youth at the heart of Italy-France cross-border cooperation

On November 5 and 6, 2025 in Antibes, the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region and the Regional Academic Delegation for Youth, Engagement and Sports (DRAJES) organised a seminar on cross-border cooperation between Italy and France around youth, engagement and international youth mobility.

In honor of the Quirinal Treaty, the seminar brought together around one hundred participants from eight border regions. The seminar was structured around two workshops: one dedicated to maritime border territories (Marittim’Traité); and the other, entitled “Youth in the Mountains,” focused on the challenges and prospects of cross-border cooperation in the Alps. The discussions addressed the specific challenges faced by young people in these territories, as well as the cooperation opportunities offered by ERASMUS+, INTERREG ALCOTRA, and MARITTIMO, and fostered networking among stakeholders. The idea of a cross-border cooperation committee dedicated to youth mobility emerged and could be officially proposed at the Quirinal Treaty Cross-Border Cooperation Committee meeting in Aosta in early 2026.
