Examples of projects

Vocational Training

  • The project Distance Zéro (2008-2012) for cross-border mobility between Wallonia and the Champagne-Ardenne region, led by the GIP (public interest grouping) EFTLV of the Académie de Reims and the Walloon Office for Employment and Vocational training, is developing a joint training offering for employees and jobseekers, while at the same time targeting the professionalisation of actors in the field of training.

  • The Pyrefop project (on the Franco-Spanish border) aims to improve transparency and mutual recognition of professional qualifications, while at the same time promoting the diffusion of innovations and know-how in the field of vocational training between the administrations of the four partner regions (Aquitaine, Midi-Pyrénées, Aragon and Catalonia), as well as the creation of joint training programmes.

  • The project "Modularisation of the cross-border training offering" (Interreg IV A France-Switzerland 2007-2013) entails the conception and undertaking of a cross-border modularisation method for vocational training pathways.

  • Within the context of the the Franco-Swiss cooperation programmes, several partnerships exist between Franche-Comté, the Swiss Cantons, professional sectors, and actors in the field of training.

  • The Pôle de formation transfrontalier, bi-national training centre established by the National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts (CNAM) and the Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft des Saarlandes (HTW) in the Saarbrücken-Moselle-Est cross-border conurbation.

Apprenticeships

  • The cross-border apprenticeship scheme in higher education introduced by the Alsace Regional Council in partnership with the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg (DHBW)

  • The Euregio Certificate offers an opportunity for all apprentices and students of French, German and Swiss vocational schools in the Upper Rhine area to carry out a training period within the cross-border region in a foreign company for a minimum of four weeks. The project is an initiative of the tri-national metropolitan area of the Upper Rhine.
