The Franco-Luxembourgish Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) was created on 26 January 2010 in Paris within the framework of the convention signed between the two countries for the strengthening of cross-border cooperation.

Its objective is to facilitate exchanges between cross-border cooperation stakeholders from both countries and to propose solutions to problems raised in order to make the local populations’ daily lives easier.

The first meeting of the IGC took place in April 2011. On the impetus of the IGC, working groups have been set up to decide upon cross-border projects.
