The strategic project "University of the Greater Region" lays the foundations for a coordinated association of the universities of the Greater Region, towards the creation of an integrated space by higher education into the cross-border area.
The "creation of a European space of higher education", the objective of the Declaration of Bologna of 1999 can become a reality in the Greater Region, allowing the latter to position itself as a regional beacon in Europe.

Project goals

Increase the mobility thanks to:

  • Simplification of the administrative formalities (ex: procedures of registration)
  • Access to the courts, to the libraries, to the university canteens and other student services
  • Advantageous price rates in association with regions and transport companies in common

Strengthen the offer of training within the partner universities thanks to:

  • new double diplomas or joint diplomas
  • cross-border cooperations with an offer of coordinated courtyard and a mutual gratitude of the credits
  • cross-border seminars

Strengthen the cross-border search and the training of the PhD students thanks to:

  • The networking of the scientists
  • the provision of rare equipment
  • a close relationship in the training of the PhD students (transverse capacities, international guardianships of thesis, etc.)

Project activities

Numerous programs and projects in the field of training and of the research are also led.
