With the TIMIS flood project (Transnational Internet Map Information System on Flooding), Luxembourg, France and Germany develop foundations for an improved and cross-border protection against floods. So, seven Luxemburg, French and German partners of the project develop in common a Web-based information system of floods for hundreds of streams.

Project goals
The main objectives of this project are:
- The elaboration of maps of flood hazards
- The improvement of the forecast of the floods for the Moselle
- The development of a system of prealert for floods for the small hillsides ponds
- The implementation of a SIG of the floods ( geographical information system)
- The access by Internet to the information about the floods.
Target group(s)
The population, the municipalities and the emergency services, but also the authorities responsible for the management of water and for the town and country planning as well as the research institutes and experts
