Dantxaria WWTP in Ainhoa

In 2005, the Pays Basque organisation, announced that the Dantxaria WWTP was not important enough to treat all the pollution caused by the ventas. Because of this some polluted water was rejected in the Nivelle without going through treatment and that was causing bacteriologic trouble for the rest of the river. To change this situation, it was decided that the Dantxaria WWTP would be completely rebuilt in order to raise its capacity. The field work began in December 2011 and the inauguration took place in December 2012.
