ESPON Seminar

ESPON Seminar

On 24-25 May in Malta, the ESPON seminar “Revealing territorial potentials and shaping new policies - Contribution to the post-2020 cohesion policy debate” was held, organised by the EGTC in conjunction with the Maltese presidency of the European Union Council.

The aim was to contribute to discussions on the future of European cohesion policy and to explore the question of an integrated approach to support territories with geographical specificities.
Cross-border issues are crucial in the discussions about the future of cohesion policy. Jean Peyrony, the MOT's Director-General, took part in a roundtable on this subject, which highlighted the need to work at the level of functional areas, from cross-border territories through to macro-regions.
