Meetings of players involved in Franco-Italian cross-border cooperation: the Sud Region mobilises

In order to make a preliminary assessment of past Interreg programmes and to plan for the future, the Sud Region (Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur) organised, in partnership with the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Alpes-Maritimes, Hautes-Alpes and Var Departments, a series of three meetings with ALCOTRA and MARITTIMO project developers.

These three regional co-development seminars took place between 18 October and 12 November in Nice, Gap and Digne-les-Bains. They brought together over 100 participants representing a diverse range of players and structures (associations, businesses, local authorities, etc.) that have been involved in cross-border cooperation projects with neighbouring Italian partners.

The MOT, which is carrying out the capitalisation study on behalf of the Region, within the framework of the Europ’Act programme, was in charge of facilitating these three participatory meetings, whose discussions in plenary sessions and workshops focused on the contributions made by and areas for improvement in the partnerships, the obstacles encountered in the implementation of projects, and the most promising topics for cross-border cooperation post-2020.

A date for your diaries! A regional conference to present the study giving an assessment of and setting out the prospects for cross-border cooperation in the Sud Region will take place on 10 March 2020 in Marseille. It will be open to the general public.
