First EGTC under German law

The first German EGTC, “Interregional Alliance for the Rhine-Alps Corridor”, with its registered office located in Mannheim, was approved on 24 April 2015 by the Regierungspräsidium Freiburg.

The Rhine-Alps Corridor, situated between Rotterdam and Genoa, is one of the most important European corridors. The EGTC is aiming to set up a joint development strategy, produced as part of the CODE24 project funded by the Interreg IVB North-West Europe programme. The objective is to improve the utilisation of the existing infrastructure and expand the capacity for transport of persons and goods.
