Government departments ask the MOT about Franco-Luxembourg cooperation
May 2024
A Franco-Luxembourg Intergovernmental Commission is due to be held between now and the end of 2024. As part of the preparations, the MOT was consulted twice by French government departments.
On February 8th, the MOT discussed the idea of a cross-border cooperation fund with the central government and the European Union Directorate of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.
The exchange continued on April 19th with Laurent Touvet, Prefect of Moselle, to discuss the desirability of a Franco-Luxembourg cross-border development strategy. The MOT took advantage of these exchanges to recall the fundamentals of FR-LU cooperation, give its point of view on the mechanisms at work or under consideration, and warn of the development challenges it anticipates for this territory.
