Launch of a trans-Pyrenean project to unite emergency services
June 2024The first pilot committee of the SA-URG (Support Sanitaire opérationnel de réponse à l'Urgence transpyrénéenne) project, financed by the European POCTEFA program, was held on June 13th and 14th, 2024 in Bayonne.
Its aim is to improve healthcare in the event of emergencies and disasters through cooperation between border regions and the strengthening of operational capacities along the Pyrenean chain. It brings together the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire (CHU) de Toulouse, Navarrabiomed (technical and scientific services of the Government of Navarre), the Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques (emergency organization of Catalonia), the Servicio Aragonés de Salud (health service of the Government of Aragon) and the Centre Hospitalier de la Côte Basque.
In particular, the project has enabled the creation of mobile tools for the care of disaster victims throughout the Pyrenees mountain range.
