Adoption of the Multiannual Financial Framework and the legislative package for Cohesion Policy
  • The European Parliament has adopted the Multiannual Financial Framework:

On 19 November 2013, the European Parliament voted in favour of the European Union's Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) for the years 2014 to 2020. The Parliament's consent opens the way clears the way for final approval by the Council in the coming weeks. The EU's budget framework defines spending priorities that are geared towards sustainable growth, jobs and competitiveness in line with the EU's growth strategy "Europe 2020". The sum allocated to European territorial cooperation has been raised for the 2014-2020 programming period to 8,948,260,000 euros (2011 prices).

Regulations for implementing EU cohesion policy in 2014-2020 were endorsed by European Parliament on 20 November 2013:
- The Common Provisions regulation on EU funds
- The ERDF regulation
- The regulation on the European Social Fund
- The Cohesion Fund regulation
- The ETC regulation
- The EGTC regulation
