Conurbations 

The border cities of Oradea (206 000 inhabitants), in Romania, and Debrecen (207 000 inhabitants), in Hungary, are distant of 70 km distant. Despite their relative geographic distance, they maintain a relationship of cooperation, in particular due to the presence of a large Hungarian minority on the Romanian side. Debrecen and Oradea have formalized their agreement in 2002 with the creation of the Hajdú-Bihar-Bihor Euroregion (1 147 226 inhabitants), whose they are the main towns. This structure has helped to develop joint projects for most of them in culture, environment and tourism.
